Asparagus Pea ORGANIC Seed - Irish Plants Direct

This easy to grow vegetable also known as a winged pea has deep red flowers that develop into small winged pods with a flavour similar to asparagus.

Harvest when the pods are 3 - 4cm long and boil lightly.

This variety has been awarded by ProSpecieRara as a rare or old variety.

Sow April - June

Germination 7 - 10 days

Loam, chalk or sandy soil thats neutral, acidic or alkaline

Harvest July - September

Companion Plants French beans, carrots, cucumber, radish, turnip

Do not plant with Onions, chives and potatoes

Harvest when the pods are small between 3 - 4cm long.

A good source of vitamin A B1C

top and tail before cooking lightly boil or steam

Sow between April - June when the soil has warmed up in drills 2cm deep and 5cm apart and water the drill well.

Space the drills 15cm apart.
