Ideal for flower beds, borders, and hanging baskets, ‘Blue Ball’ is a true standout, attracting pollinators and providing long lasting beauty throughout the summer months.

With its compact and bushy growth habit, ‘Blue Ball’ thrives in well drained soil and full sun, making it a low maintenance option for gardeners looking to add reliable colour to their outdoor spaces.

Sowing Instructions

Start seeds indoors from February to April in pots or trays filled with fine compost. Press seeds lightly into the surface and cover with a thin layer of compost. Maintain a temperature of 18–21°C and keep soil moist until germination. After the seedlings have developed a few leaves, transplant them into larger pots and harden off before planting outdoors after the last frost.

Direct sow in late spring to early summer once the threat of frost has passed. Lightly rake the seeds into prepared soil and water gently. Keep the soil consistently moist until germination. Space seedlings to 20–30 cm apart for proper growth.

Ageratum ‘Blue Ball’ is a fantastic addition to any garden, providing bright, eye-catching colour and attracting bees and butterflies. Perfect for both experienced and beginner gardeners looking to add a cheerful, low-maintenance flower to their landscape.
