African Tulip Tree Seeds - Irish Plants

A fast growing tropical evergreen tree that can be cultivated in a large pot as a conservatory houseplant.

It has a canopy of dark green oval leaves and wonderfull large orange red flowers that can bloom year round flowering after the third year.

Placed outside during summer in a sunny sheltered spot.

It requires a bright and sunny area and doesn't tolerate frost needing the temperature to be over 3° Celsius but do not place near a heater.

Plant

Sow the seed year round onto a tray of moist compost covering with a light layer of compost. Place on a sunny window sill or in a propagator the temperature needs to be between 20° - 25°.

Cover the pot with clear polythene to retain moisture.

Remove regularly so mould doesn't form.

When the plants are large enough to handle transplant into individual pots to grow on.
