Acanthus Mollis Vicioso Seeds - Irish Plants Direct
 
This tall architectural perennial has glossy dark green leaves and tall strong flower spikes with white and purple two lipped bracts. 
 
A long flowering plant thats looks better and better year on year grow in deep fertile well drained soil to minimise powdery mildew.

Soak the seed for 24hrs hours prior to sowing. 
 
Sow between August - November or February - May on a warm window sill into trays of moist compost the temperature for germination is between 10° - 13° cover with sieved compost.
 
When the seedlings are large enough to handle transplant into 7.5cm pots to grow on.  
 
Gradually harden off the plants before planting out in the border.
 
Can be sown outside once the plants have been fully hardened off to flower the following year.
