Sowing Instructions

 

For indoor sowing, start seeds in early spring (March to May). Fill seed trays or pots with a good quality, well-drained compost and lightly press the seeds onto the surface. Cover the seeds with a light dusting of compost or fine soil, as they need light to germinate. Keep the soil moist but not waterlogged and maintain a temperature of around 18-21°C.

 

Once the seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant them into individual pots and harden off before planting outdoors after the last frost. Space plants 30 cm apart in a sunny, sheltered location for optimal growth.

 

For outdoor sowing, scatter seeds in a prepared seedbed, lightly rake the soil to cover them, and water gently to keep the soil moist until germination.
