Sowing Instructions

 

Start seeds indoors from January to April for an early crop. Sow seeds 0.5 cm deep in seed trays or small pots filled with fine compost. Keep at a temperature of 18–21°C. Transplant seedlings into larger pots once they have developed a strong root system. Harden off before planting outdoors after the risk of frost has passed.

 

Once night temperatures remain above 10°C, transplant seedlings to their final position in a greenhouse, garden bed, or container. Space plants 50 cm apart and provide support as they grow. Water regularly and feed with a high-potassium fertiliser to encourage fruiting.
