Tomato Buffalosun F1 Seeds - Irish Plants Direct

 

This early beefsteak tomato has large fleshy red flushed yellow meaty fruits with a sweet flavour.

Use for soups sauces and sandwiches.

 

The fruits are heavy so only allow 3 trusses per plant grow under glass or in a polytunnel. 

 

A good blight resident variety.

Tomatoes can be grown in pots, containers in a  greenhouse or tunnel. Prepare the soil by digging in compost or well rotted manure adding an organic granular fertiliser 2 weeks before planting, grow bags are great for growing tomatoes.

 

This variety is grown as a cordon grow the main stem and pinch out the side shoots. Will need staking. 

 

Sow between January - April place the seed tray either on a warm windowsill or in a heated propagator the temperature for germination needs to be between 21 - 27 degrees. 

 

Make sure the seedlings have plenty of light and when they get their first true leaves transplant to a larger pot to grow on.  Transplant when the plants are around 15cm tall water well before transplanting and tie the main stem to a cane for support. 

 

It's important to water regularly and feed with tomato feed fortnightly when the flowers appear.
