Sowing Instructions

 

Indoors: Sow seeds in trays or pots filled with fine seed compost from February to April. Cover lightly with compost, water gently, and maintain a temperature of 18–21°C. Once seedlings are large enough to handle, prick out into individual pots and grow on in bright, warm conditions.

 

Outdoors/Greenhouse: Harden off plants after the last frost and transplant into a sunny, sheltered site, spacing 45–60 cm apart. Provide canes or string supports for vertical growth and water consistently. Feed weekly with a tomato fertiliser once flowers appear.

 

Regular harvesting encourages further fruiting. Black Beauty tomatoes develop their deepest colour when exposed to plenty of sunlight.
