Sweet Viola Seeds - Irish Plants Direct

These sweetly scented little flowers are an old fashioned favourite.

This semi evergreen spreading plant has dark green foliage with strong scented purple flowers.

It provides good ground cover and is an excellent choice for under planting in dappled shade under trees and shrubs.

Loam, clay or sandy soil that's acidic, alkaline or neutral

Germination time 10 - 20 days

Height 10 - 20cm

Also known as Viola

Sow between March - May on a sunny window sill or propagator into a seed tray of moist compost, cover the seed 6mm deep with sieved compost.

When the seedlings are large enough to handle transplant into trays 5cm apart to grow on.

Gradually harden off the plants when all risk of frosts have passed and plant out 30cm apart.
