  • Description

A beautifully scented sweet pea with bold rippled markings that bring colour, fragrance and elegance to summer displays.

Sweet Pea Ripple is a beautifully patterned variety that produces large scented blooms with distinctive rippled and flaked markings. Each flower displays soft waves of colour across the petals, creating a unique and eye catching effect that stands out in borders and cutting gardens. The colours range from deep rose and crimson to softer pinks and purples, all carried on long strong stems ideal for cutting.

This elegant variety is bred for fragrance, flower size and garden performance. The plants grow vigorously and produce a generous number of blooms throughout the summer, filling the garden with classic sweet pea perfume. The rippled markings give each flower a hand painted look, adding charm and individuality to every stem.

Sweet Pea Ripple is perfect for trellises, arches, obelisks and wigwams, where its climbing habit can be used to create height and structure. The blooms last well when cut and are excellent for scented bouquets and arrangements.

Regular picking encourages even more flowers, ensuring a long and abundant display.
Thriving in full sun and fertile well drained soil, this variety is easy to grow and rewards consistent care with exceptional colour and fragrance.

Sow seeds in small pots or trays of moist free draining compost and cover lightly with soil. Maintain gentle warmth and keep the compost evenly moist until seedlings appear. Pinch out the growing tips to encourage bushier plants. Harden off gradually and plant out after the last frost, providing supports for the plants to climb.

Grow and maintenance
Water regularly during dry spells and feed every two weeks to support continuous flowering. Tie in young stems as they grow and remove spent blooms to prevent seed formation. Pick flowers frequently to encourage fresh blooms. Provide a sunny sheltered position for the best colour and fragrance.
