Sowing Instructions

 

Soak seeds overnight before sowing to aid germination. Sow individually in pots or trays of moist, free draining compost. Lightly cover with fine soil and maintain temperatures at 15 to 20°C. Germination usually occurs within 2 to 3 weeks. Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle, spacing 20 to 30 cm apart. Provide supports such as canes, trellises, or netting for climbing. Harden off indoor seedlings and plant out after last frost.

 

Grow and Maintenance

 

Water regularly during dry spells and feed with a high potash fertiliser to encourage strong growth and abundant blooms. Remove spent flowers to prolong flowering and prevent seed set. Train vines onto supports for best display. Sweet Pea Leamington thrives in sunny positions and fertile soil, rewarding with fragrance and colour throughout summer.
