A beautifully balanced mixture of Lathyrus odoratus producing large frilled blooms in soft pastels and vibrant summer shades.

 

The Horizon series is bred for strong stems, excellent fragrance and reliable early flowering, making it a superb choice for cutting gardens, trellises and scented summer displays.

 

It forms vigorous climbing plants that quickly cover supports with masses of long stemmed blooms ideal for vases.

 

The flowers carry a classic sweet pea scent and appear continuously from early summer to early autumn when regularly picked.

This hardy annual thrives in full sun and fertile well drained soil. With regular watering and feeding it produces a long lasting display of colour and fragrance perfect for borders arches obelisks and cut flower beds.

Germination 10 to 21 days at 12 to 18°C

Sowing Instructions

Soak seeds for a few hours before sowing to aid germination. Sow individually in deep pots or modules filled with moist well drained compost. Cover lightly with soil and maintain a temperature of 12 to 18°C. Pinch out the growing tip at 10 cm to encourage bushier plants. Harden off and plant out after the last frost spacing 20 to 30 cm apart and provide strong support for climbing stems.

 

Grow and Maintenance

Water regularly especially during dry spells and feed every two weeks with a high potash fertiliser. Remove faded blooms and pick flowers frequently to prolong the display. Tie in stems as they grow and ensure good air circulation to reduce mildew. Sweet Pea Horizon thrives in sunny sheltered positions and is ideal for cutting gardens and scented displays.
