Description

Swede Marian Seed - Irish Plants Direct

This hardy winter vegetable has globe shaped purple topped roots with a uniformed size and a sweet yellow flesh with an excellent flavour.

A good variety for resistance to mildew and club root.

Sow April - June

Germination 14 - 21 days

Loam or sandy soil that's alkaline or neutral

Harvest November - January

Companion plants squash, tomatoes celery

Do not plant with potatoes or raddish

Leave in the ground until ready to use

A good source of Vitamin C, Potassium and Calcium

Use roasted, mashed or boiled

Sow thinly in a prepared seed bed between April - June in rows 45cm apart and 1.5 cm deep. Cover lightly and keep moist.

When the seedlings appear thin to 25 cm apart to grow on.

Sow every few weeks for a continuous crop.
