Phlox White Seeds

Drummond's Phlox White forms neat mounds of green foliage topped with masses of crisp, open centred flowers from midsummer to early autumn. The luminous blooms are highly attractive to butterflies and hoverflies and pair beautifully with pastel companions or bold colour contrasts.

 

This easy to grow annual thrives in full sun and well drained soil and is ideal for edging, bedding, and patio pots. It performs well in both formal and informal planting schemes and is suitable for pollinator friendly gardens.

Sowing Instructions

 

Sow seeds thinly on the surface of moist well drained compost and press gently without covering. Maintain warmth at 18 to 21°C in a propagator or covered tray. Germination usually occurs within 1 to 3 weeks. Transplant seedlings into individual pots when large enough to handle. Harden off and plant out after last frost spacing 20 to 30 cm apart. For direct sowing wait until soil is warm and frost risk has passed.

 

Grow and Maintenance

 

Water regularly during dry spells and feed monthly with a balanced fertiliser. Deadhead spent blooms to encourage continued flowering. Phlox prefers full sun and tolerates light drought once established. Suitable for borders containers and wildlife schemes.
