Pepper Sweet Yala And Rela Seeds - Irish Plants Direct

A very tasty and attractive sweet pepper that produces a mix of both yellow and red extremely sweet and tasty fruits that are between 8 - 10cm long.

They can be grown under glass, in a polytunnel or outside in a very sunny sheltered area in pots and containers they may need support.

Use for salads and snacks.

Germination 14 - 21 days

Loam or sandy soil that's acidic or neutral

Harvest July - October

Companion Plants Tomato, carrots, onions, parsley & basil

Do not plant with kohlrabi and fennel

Pick the fruits when they are yellow

A good source of vitamin C

Use in salads, sauces or bbq

Sweet peppers need a long growing season and will grow outside if they are planted beside a south facing wall in containers and kept extremely sheltered.

Sow the seed from February - April in a seed tray covering the seed with a fine layer of sieved compost, and place on a sunny window sill or in a heated propagator do not let the compost dry out.

When the seedlings are around 5cm tall pot them into 9cm pots then into a larger pot as they grow transfer them in June to the greenhouse border, growbag or pots.

Water regularly and feed with a liquid feed when the first flowers appear.
