Grow your own peanut plantation!!!

An easy to grow self pollinating annual plant that has bright yellow flowers between May and August.

The base of the carpel bends after pollination sinking into the soil producing the fruit.

Grow in a large pot to make harvesting easy.

Sow January - October

Germination time 1 - 4 weeks

Well drained neutral soil

Height 30cm x 80cm

Plant in sun

Before sowing soak the seed in warm water for 12 hours.

Sow the seed between January - October into pots of moist compost 1cm deep and place on a sunny window sill or in a propagator the temperature needs to be between 20° - 25°.

Cover the pot with clear polythene to retain moisture.

Remove regularly so mould doesn't form.

When the plants are large enough to handle transplant into individual pots to grow on.
