Sowing Instructions

 

For an early start, sow seeds indoors from February to March in deep seed trays or pots. Sow 3 cm deep in moist compost and keep at a temperature of 10-15°C. Once seedlings reach 10 cm tall, harden off and transplant outdoors.

 

Direct sow from March to June in well-prepared soil. Sow seeds 3 cm deep and 5 cm apart in rows spaced 45 cm apart. Provide light support for climbing growth. Water regularly, especially during dry spells, and mulch around the base to retain moisture. Harvest pods when plump and full for the best flavour.
