Passion Flower Giant Granadilla Seeds - Irish Plants Direct

This rampant evergreen woody self clinging climber has dark green leaves with large flowers that have red petals and white and purple striped corona.

The yellow orange fruits that follow the flowers are edible and can be eaten or juiced.

It may need winter protection if grown in cold areas or could be grown indoors as a houseplant.

Sow February - April or year round.

Germination takes 21 - 41 days

Loam, chalk or sandy soil that's acidic, alkaline or neutral

Also known as common passion flower, flower of five wounds

Soak the seed overnight in water.

Sow between February - April into a tray of moist compost 1cm deep and place on a warm window sill, the germination temperature needs to be 25 - 30° keep the compost moist.

When the seedlings are large enough to handle transplant into 7.5cm pots to grow on.

Plant out after the risk of frost has passed.
