Parsley is a biennial herb, though typically grown as an annual, known for its fresh, vibrant green leaves and its refreshing, slightly peppery flavour. It’s a staple in a wide range of cuisines, from Mediterranean to Middle Eastern, and works well in soups, stews, salads, and as a garnish.

The plants produce attractive, feathery foliage, making them perfect for containers, raised beds, or even window boxes. A hardy herb, parsley thrives in full sun or partial shade and can even tolerate light frost, ensuring a plentiful harvest from early spring to late autumn.

Sowing Instructions

Sow seeds indoors from February to April or directly outdoors in well-prepared soil after the last frost. For indoor sowing, fill seed trays or pots with fine, moist compost, and lightly cover the seeds. Maintain a temperature of 18-21°C and keep the soil consistently moist. Once seedlings have reached 5-7 cm tall, transplant them into larger pots or directly into the garden, spacing them 15-20 cm apart.

For outdoor sowing, plant seeds 0.5 cm deep in rows, thinning seedlings to allow for proper growth. Keep the soil moist throughout the growing season to ensure a steady supply of tender leaves.

A wonderful addition to any herb garden, this parsley selection not only brings flavour to your dishes but also adds a beautiful touch of green to your outdoor spaces.
