Indoors: Sow seeds in trays or modules from January  to April in fine, moist compost. Cover lightly with a thin layer of compost and maintain a temperature of 18–21°C. Once seedlings have 2–3 true leaves, transplant into pots or directly into prepared soil after hardening off.

Outdoors: Sow directly in prepared, fertile soil from March to April in rows 30 cm apart. Thin seedlings to 10–15 cm spacing for optimal bulb development. Keep soil consistently moist and weed-free during establishment.

For best results, harvest bulbs when tops begin to yellow and dry. Cure in a warm, airy place before storing to extend shelf life.

Onion Stuttgarter Riesen is a traditional, high-yielding variety prized for its size, flavour, and storability. A must-have for gardeners seeking reliable, delicious onions straight from their own plot.
