Sowing instructions

Sow seeds on the surface of moist free draining compost and press gently into place without covering, as the seeds need light to germinate. Maintain gentle warmth and keep the compost evenly moist until seedlings appear. Transplant young plants into individual pots when large enough to handle. Harden off gradually and plant out after the last frost in a sunny well drained position.

 

Grow and maintenance

Water sparingly once established, as the plants prefer dry conditions. Avoid overwatering, especially in cool weather. Remove spent blooms to encourage continued flowering. Provide the sunniest position possible, as the flowers open fully only in bright light. These plants thrive in poor soil and require minimal feeding.
