Melon Jaune Canari 2 Seeds - Irish Plants Direct

This oval shaped melon has delicious sweet tasting fruits with juicy creamy white coloured flesh and a bright yellow thick skin.

A good disease resistant variety.

Seed Qty 1 gram

Sow March - May

Germination 7 - 10 days

Loam or sandy soil thats acidic or neutral

Harvest August onwards

Companion Plants Corn, peas, beets, radish, salad crops, leeks onions and nasturtiums

Cut the fruit with a knife when they are large enough

A good source of Vitamins C & Potassium

Simply eat fresh on their own or add to fruit salads

Apply a liquid fertaliser every two weeks after the first leaves have developed.

Sow indoors from March sowing 2 seeds in 7cm pots on their sides about 2.5cm deep place onto a window sill, warm greenhouse or propagator.

Pot on the strongest plants when the roots are visible at the bottom of the pots into 9cm pots and grow on.

Plant into large pots, grow bags or the ground in a greenhouse or tunnel.

Plant one plant per 1 square metre.
