  • Description

A charming dwarf lupin that fills the garden with elegant white flower spikes and compact reliable growth.

Lupin Snow Pixie is a delightful dwarf variety that produces graceful spires of pure white flowers on compact tidy plants. Its soft elegant blooms bring a fresh brightness to borders and containers, creating a gentle cottage garden feel even in smaller spaces. The flowers rise above neat mounds of divided green foliage, giving the plants a balanced and refined appearance.

This charming selection from the Johnsons Seed Range is known for its reliable early flowering and its ability to perform well in both beds and pots. The compact habit makes it ideal for the front of borders, edging, patio containers and mixed plantings where taller lupins may be too large. The blooms are produced freely throughout early and midsummer, attracting bees and other pollinators.

The foliage forms a dense leafy base that remains attractive through the season. The pure white flowers stand out beautifully against the green leaves and pair well with soft pastels, blues and silvers in cottage style plantings. Snow Pixie is particularly useful for gardeners who want the charm of lupins without the height of traditional varieties.

Thriving in full sun and well drained soil, Lupin Snow Pixie is easy to grow and suits a wide range of garden settings. With its compact form and elegant flowers, it brings a refined touch to any summer display.

Sowing instructions

Sow seeds in trays or pots of moist free draining compost and cover lightly with a fine layer of soil. Maintain gentle warmth and keep the compost evenly moist until seedlings appear. Transplant young plants into individual pots when large enough to handle. Harden off gradually and plant out after the last frost in a sunny sheltered position.

Grow and maintenance

Water regularly during dry spells and feed occasionally to support strong flowering. Remove spent flower spikes to encourage further blooms. Protect young plants from slugs and snails. Lupins prefer soil that is not overly rich and benefit from good drainage. Mulch lightly in spring to help retain moisture and suppress weeds.
