Lettuce Butterhead Ewelina Seeds

A medium early butterhead lettuce producing compact green heads with tender crisp leaves and excellent flavour.

 

This reliable variety matures in around 55 to 60 days from sowing and is well suited to field cultivation from early spring through late autumn. Ewelina is highly resistant to bolting, even in warm conditions, and shows good tolerance to common lettuce diseases, ensuring a steady supply of high quality crops.

Sowing Instructions

 

Sow thinly in shallow drills 1 cm deep with 30 cm between rows. Cover lightly with soil and water well. Thin seedlings to 20 cm apart once established. For continuous harvests sow every three weeks. Can also be started indoors in modules and transplanted outside once large enough to handle.

Keep soil moist to prevent bitterness and bolting. Protect young plants from slugs and birds. Harvest heads promptly when firm and full sized. For successional cropping, sow small batches regularly throughout the season.
