Kohlrabi Modrava F1 Seeds - Irish Plants Direct
 
This slightly flattened globe shaped root vegetable has purple skin with a mild sweet nutty flavoured creamy white flesh.
 
They provide good sized roots but can be harvested as baby veg or left to mature.
 
Harvest from summer into autumn.
 
A good disease resistant variety with resistance to bolting and cracking skin.
 
Seed Qty  0.5 gram
 
Sow February - July 
Germination 7 - 21 days
Loam or sandy soil that's acidic or neutral 
Harvest June - October 
Companion Plants Beets, Beans, Cucumber, Lettuce, Onion and Potatoes Harvest when they are the size of a cricket ball
A good source of vitamin C and B6
Use roasted, steamed or raw in salad
 
Sow thinly between February - March into trays or modules when the plants are large enough to handle prick out the plants into trays spacing 5cm apart or into individual pots.
 
Gradually harden off the plants and plant out after the risk of frost has passed 25cm apart and 30cm between rows.
 
Alternatively sow outside between April - July where they are to grow 1.5cm deep into finely raked well drained soil that has already been watered leaving 30cm between each row.
 
Thin the seedling to 25 cm apart and keep well watered until the plants are established.
