Seed Qty Approx 16 seeds

 

Sow February to April indoors in trays or pots. Germination 30 to 60 days at 22 to 25°C. Soil and Position Free draining sandy compost; prefers bright indirect light and warm conditions. Height 100 to 150 cm indoors with large lobed leaves. Flowering Rare indoors; grown primarily for foliage.

 

Sowing instructions

Sow seeds thinly on the surface of moist sandy compost. Cover lightly with fine grit or vermiculite. Place in a warm bright position and keep soil just moist. Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle into individual pots.

 

Grow and maintenance

Grow in free draining compost with occasional watering. Allow soil to dry slightly between waterings. Philodendron Selloum thrives in bright indirect light and warm conditions. Repot plants as they grow and feed occasionally with balanced fertiliser. Protect from frost and cold draughts.
