Goji Berry Seeds - Irish Plants Direct
 
This deciduous fruiting woody shrub has slender spiky arching branches that bears small purple flowers from late spring followed by bright red berries from late summer.
 
Harvest by shaking the bush gently and gather the ripe fruits that fall.
 
Rich in vitamin C and other beneficial vitamins and minerals these berries can be eaten fresh, cooked, juiced or dried.

Sow January - April 
Germination time 14 - 21days
Well drained alkaline -neutral soil
Height 220 - 300cm
Plant in sun 
Harvest from August onwards in the 2nd - 3rd year from sowing 
Also known as Wolfberry bush, lyceum barbarum
Prune lightly in spring removing dead and damaged branches
Container grown plants need feeding fortnightly during summer.
Tomato food can be used.
 
Soak the seed between 24 - 48 hours in warm water before sowing.
 
 
Sow between January - April placing 3 seeds per pot into a mix of compost mixed with sand or fine grit.
Place on a warm window sill or in a propagator germinate at between 18 - 20°.
 
When the seedlings are large enough to handle transplant into individual pots to grow on.
 
Gradually harden off the plants before planting out after all risk of frost has passed.
 
If the plants are to be grown in a container use a mix of compost, sand or fine grit.
