Sow May to July directly outdoors in prepared beds for flowering the following year. Germination 14 to 21 days at 15 to 20°C. Soil and Position Fertile well drained soil; prefers partial shade or sun. Height 90 to 150 cm with tall spires and mixed coloured flowers. Flowering May to July.

 

Sowing instructions

Prepare a fine seed bed in sun or partial shade. Sow seeds thinly on the soil surface and press lightly without covering as foxglove requires light to germinate. Thin seedlings to 30 cm spacing once established. Water well after sowing and keep soil evenly moist during dry spells.

 

Grow and maintenance

Grow in fertile soil with regular watering during dry periods. Foxglove Mix thrives in cool conditions and is hardy in spring and summer gardens. Deadhead spent blooms to prolong flowering or allow plants to self seed for naturalised displays. Handle with care as all parts of the plant are toxic if ingested.
