Fennel Romanesco ORGANIC Seeds - Irish Plants Direct

 

This tasty variety has large white rounded bulbs with an excellent flavour.

 

The tall stems have a fine feathery foliage and a mild aniseed flavour that can be harvested from July. 

 

A good bolt resistant variety. 

 

Seed Qty 0.5 gram

 

 

Sow into well raked prepared fertile soil between late March to may. The drills should be around 2cm deep and well watered, sow the seed thinly, each drill should be around 30cm apart.

 

Thin out the seedlings to 30cm when they emerge usually between 7 - 21 days to grow on. Earth up the roots when the bulbs begin to swell to preserve the whiteness and flavour of the bulb keep the plants well watered in warm weather.

 

They do not like root disturbance.
