Cucumber Cornichon De Paris Gherkin Seeds - Irish Plants Direct

A classic French heirloom producing crisp, mini gherkins  perfect for pickling, snacking, and traditional Parisian cuisine.

Cucumber Cornichon de Paris is a compact, prolific variety bred for harvesting at just 2.5–5 cm (1–2") long. Its firm, crunchy texture and few seeds make it ideal for pickling into authentic cornichons.

The plants are vigorous and well suited to containers, raised beds, or small space gardens. With good resistance to bitterness and a sweet flavour, these cucumbers are also excellent raw in salads or on crudité platters.

A reliable performer in temperate climates, and a favourite among heritage growers.

Sowing Instructions
Sow indoors from March to May for best results. Place seeds on edge 0.5 cm deep in small pots of moist compost and keep at 21–24°C. Germination takes 7–14 days. Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle, harden off, and plant outdoors after the last frost. Space 30–45 cm apart in rows or train up supports. Alternatively, direct sow outdoors in May–June once soil has warmed.

Pick fruits when 2.5–5 cm long for best flavour and texture. Regular harvesting encourages continued production.
