Sowing Instructions

 

Sow seeds directly outdoors from late April to June, once the risk of frost has passed. Prepare well-drained soil enriched with compost or organic matter, sowing seeds 2.5 cm deep and spacing plants 90 cm apart in rows.

 

For earlier crops, sow seeds indoors in April. Use small pots filled with compost and keep them in a warm location at 18-21°C until germination. Harden off seedlings before transplanting them outdoors after the last frost.

 

Harvest courgettes regularly when fruits are 15-20 cm long for the best flavour and texture. Larger fruits can be left to develop for stuffing or slicing.
