Courgette Ortolana Di Faenza Seeds - Irish Plants Direct

 

This robust plant produces medium sized cylindrical shaped pale green fruits that are slightly speckled with a creamy flesh.

 

A high yielding plant that can withstand cooler conditions.

 

The flowers are also edible.

Sow indoors between March - April in 9cm pots sowing two seeds per pot place the seed on their side 2.5cm deep and cover with compost.  

 

Place on a sunny window sill, warm greenhouse or propagator to germinate, remove the weaker plant and grow on the stronger one. When the roots are visible at the bottom of the pot transplant to a larger pot and grow on again.

 

Harden off and when the danger of frost has passed plant outside into a sunny border or grow on in the greenhouse or tunnel. 

 

Alternatively sow direct outside during May where they are to grow.
