Cosmos Tetra Versailles Red Seeds

A bold and richly coloured cosmos variety with extra large daisy shaped blooms in deep cherry red.

 

Cosmos Tetra Versailles Red produces masses of striking flowers with golden centres held on tall sturdy stems above finely cut fern like foliage. The upright habit and saturated colouring make it ideal for cutting gardens background planting and wildlife borders.

 

This fast growing annual thrives in full sun and well drained soil flowering continuously from midsummer to autumn. It is easy to grow and loved by pollinators adding height texture and long lasting colour to any planting scheme.

Germination 14 to 21 days at 15 to 20°C

Soil and Position Free draining fertile soil in full sun

Sowing Instructions

 

Sow seeds on the surface of moist well drained compost and lightly cover with fine soil or vermiculite. Maintain warmth at 15 to 20°C in a propagator or covered tray. Germination usually occurs within 2 to 3 weeks. Transplant seedlings into individual pots when large enough to handle. Harden off and plant out after last frost spacing 40 to 60 cm apart. For direct sowing wait until soil is warm and frost risk has passed.

 

Grow and Maintenance

 

Water regularly during dry spells and feed monthly with a balanced fertiliser. Deadhead spent blooms to encourage continued flowering. Cosmos prefers full sun and poor to moderately fertile soil. Suitable for borders cutting gardens and wildlife schemes.
