Chinese Trumpet Flower Seeds - Irish Plants Direct

This low growing clump forming perennial has fern like dark green leaves with slender stems and clusters of pinky purple bell shaped flowers with a yellow throat.

Ideal for planting in a sheltered border in well drained moist soil.

Seed Qty. 0.2 gram

Sow March - May

Loam, chalk or sandy moist soil that's alkaline or neutral

Germination time 15 - 20 days.

Height 40 - 60cm

Plant in sun or partial shade.

Flowers June - July the following year

Ideal for beds, borders, wildlife, cottage, underplanting

Also known as Incarvillea delavayi

May need protection over winter in cold area's

Sow between March - May on a warm window sill or propagator into trays of moist compost cover with 5mm of sieved compost.

Germinate at 15 - 18°.

When the seedlings are large enough to handle transplant to 5cm apart into trays or into individual pots to grow on.

Gradually harden off the plants before planting out into their flowering position after all risk of frost has passed.

Sow the seed direct into a seed bed when the soil has warmed up in spring.
