Irish Plants Direct- Cerinthe Major Purpurascens Seeds

A striking annual with nodding purple blue flowers and silvery foliage, adored by pollinators and perfect for soft, romantic borders.

Cerinthe Major Purpurascens, also known as Honeywort, is a distinctive hardy annual with fleshy blue-green leaves and tubular, bell-shaped flowers in deep violet and indigo tones. As the season progresses, its foliage transforms into sea-blue bracts that cradle the blooms, creating a layered, architectural effect.

Loved by bees and hummingbirds, this variety adds movement and elegance to borders, containers, and cut flower arrangements. Heat tolerant and self seeding, it thrives in sunny spots and brings a touch of Mediterranean charm to any garden.

Space plants 30–45 cm apart in full sun or light shade.

Water moderately and deadhead to prolong flowering. Allow some plants to self seed for naturalised displays in future seasons.
