Carrot Bangor F1 Seeds - Irish Plants Direct
 
This award winning carrot is a berlicum variety with heavy crops of large bright orange blunt ended roots that can be harvested from as early as July from an early sowing.
 
Stores well after lifting.
 
Grow in planters and troughs if space is limited.

Use for Boiling, steaming or using raw in salads
 
A handy tip thin the carrots in evening after watering to try and avoid the carrot root fly. 
 
Carrots need a firm fertile crumbling soil that has not been manure in the last year. Dig the ground in autumn and add a general fertiliser two weeks before sowing. 
Water well in dry weather to prevent splitting.

Sow during March under cloches for harvesting from July.
 
Sow between April - July
The seed is extremely small but try to sow as thinly as possible in drills 1cm deep and in rows 15cm apart when the seedlings appear thin to around 5cm apart.
