Bucks Horn Plantain Leaf ORGANIC Seeds - Irish Plants Direct

This decorative rosette forming evergreen leafy herb produces high yields of long green leaves that have a nutty flavour when little else in the garden is growing.

Harvest the leaves young when they are around 10cm long to add to mixed salad or leaves to mature and use as spinach.

It is extremely hardy and will stand through extreme weather conditions.

This variety has been awarded by ProSpecieRara as a rare or old variety.

Pick when the leaves when they are young

Use in mixed salads when the leaves are young or use as spinach if the leaves are older.

Sow in a seed tray of moist compost when the plants are large enough to handle transplant into individual modules and grow on.

Plant out when the plants are large enough 10cm apart.

Sow the seed thinly outdoors in a drill 2.5cm deep and 25cm between rows when the seedlings appear and are large enough to handle space the plants 10cm apart.
