Bonsai Common Olive Seeds - Irish Plants Direct

This slow growing evergreen tree originates from the Mediterranean it bears blue green oval shaped leaves with a lighter underneath.

Using a bonsai pot and bonsai soil is recommended and keep in a light and sunny area.

Do not over water.

Trim in summer

Gently rub the seed with a light sand paper.

Soak the seed in warm water 24 hours before sowing.

Sow the seed year round into pots if moist compost 0.5cm deep and place on a warm window sill or in a propagator the temperature needs to be between 25° - 30°.

Cover the pot with cling film pricking a few holes in the lid remove every couple of days for a couple of hours to prevent mold forming on the top of the compost.

When the plants are large enough to handle transplant into individual pots to grow on.

Bonsai liquid fertiliser is recommended feeding every 2 weeks between April - September.
