Sowing Instructions

 

For indoor sowing, start seeds in late winter to early spring (March - May). Fill seed trays or pots with a fine, well-draining compost and lightly sprinkle seeds on the surface. Press gently into the compost, as they need light to germinate. Keep the compost moist but not waterlogged and maintain a temperature of around 18-21°C. Germination typically takes 7 - 14 days.

 

Once seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant them into individual pots and gradually harden them off before planting them outdoors. Space plants 30-40 cm apart in a sunny, well-drained spot after the risk of frost has passed.

 

For direct outdoor sowing, wait until late spring when the soil has warmed. Scatter seeds in a prepared bed, lightly rake to cover them, and water gently to keep the soil moist until germination.
