Aster China Colour Carpet Mixed Seeds

Aster China ‘Colour Carpet’ (Callistephus chinensis) is a vibrant, compact variety producing an abundance of dazzling, fully double blooms in a stunning mix of colours, including pink, purple, red, white, and blue.

Sowing Instructions

 

Start seeds in seed trays or small pots from February to April. Sow on the surface of fine compost and lightly cover with a thin layer of soil. Keep at a temperature of 18–21°C and ensure the soil remains moist but not waterlogged. Once seedlings develop true leaves, transplant them into individual pots and harden off before planting outdoors after the last frost.

 

Direct sow outdoors from April to May in well-prepared, warm soil. Scatter seeds thinly in shallow drills, lightly covering them with soil. Water gently and keep soil moist until germination. Thin seedlings to 20 cm apart once they are large enough to handle.
