Nasturtium Jewel Of Afica Seed - Irish Plants Direct

An easy to grow colourful annual with attractive green and cream variegated foliage.

Plenty of single flowers bloom during summer in a mix of colours including red, yellow, cream and peach during summer.

They make ideal ground cover or grow against a trellis or fence for effective displays.

Germination time 7 - 10 days

Loam, chalk or sandy soil that's acidic, alkaline or neutral

Flowering time June - September

Planting ideas Hanging baskets, pots, containers, beds, borders, cottage, low maintenance, edible

Deadhead to prolong flowering

Sow into individual pots 3 or 4 seeds per pot on a sunny window sill when the seedlings are large enough to handle pot into 7.5cm pots to grow on.

Plant out when all risk of frost had passed.

Alternatively sow the seed direct into baskets and containers from late April where they are to grow.
