Mint Round Leaved Herb Seed.. - Irish Plants Direct

A fragrant and vigorous perennial herb, round-leaved mint (Mentha suaveolens) is prized for its softly rounded, slightly fuzzy leaves and refreshing aroma.

This versatile plant is ideal for culinary use, herbal teas, and pollinator-friendly gardens. Its spreading habit makes it a great ground cover, thriving in both containers and garden beds.

Highly attractive to bees and butterflies, this variety brings biodiversity to any outdoor space. The small, pale pink to lilac flowers bloom in summer, adding a delicate touch to herb gardens and borders.

Sowing Instructions

Sow seeds indoors from early spring or directly outdoors in late spring or early autumn. Sprinkle seeds lightly on the surface of moist, fine compost and press gently—do not cover, as light aids germination. Maintain a temperature of 18–21°C and keep the soil consistently moist.

Once seedlings are strong enough to handle, transplant them into individual pots or directly into the garden, spacing them 30 cm apart. For container growing, ensure good drainage and prune regularly to control growth.

A fantastic addition to herb gardens, round-leaved mint is a low-maintenance plant with multiple uses in cooking, teas, and natural remedies.
