Hollyhock Alcea Ficifolia Hybrid Mix Seeds - Irish Plants Direct

This classic cottage garden flower has tall spikes of single flowers in a range of colours including red, white yellow and shades of pink during summer.

A popular biennial that provide excellent colour for the back of a mixed border or against a sunny wall.

Cut down to the base after flowering, will need staking

Sow between March - May on a warm window sill or in a propagator into trays of moist compost cover with 1.5cm of sieved compost.

When the seedlings are large enough to handle transplant into 7.5 cm pots.

Plant out from July onwards for them to flower the following summer.

Can be sown outside where they are to flower between May and July.
