Dahlia Bishops Children Seed

Dahlia Bishop’s Children is a stunning seed grown dahlia mix, producing vivid  jewel-toned blooms in shades of red, pink, orange, and purple.

 

These single-flowered dahlias are descendants of the famous Bishop of Llandaff variety, featuring striking dark foliage that provides a dramatic contrast to their bright open blooms.

 

A long-flowering, pollinator friendly variety, Bishop’s Children grows to a height of 80–100 cm, thriving in rich, well-drained soil and full sun.

For continuous blooms, regularly deadhead spent flowers and water during dry spells. As frost approaches, lift tubers for overwintering or provide a protective mulch if left in the ground.

 

Sowing Instructions

 

Indoors:

Sow seeds in trays of moist, free-draining compost from February to April. Lightly cover with compost and keep at 18–22°C. Once seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant into individual pots. Harden off before planting out after the last frost, spacing 30–40 cm apart.
