Cornflower Double Black Seeds - Irish Plants Direct

This branching hardy annual is a cottage garden favourite and is perfect colour in beds and borders.

The deep maroon double flowers are almost black in colour creating excellent displays during summer attracting plenty of butterflies, grow in drifts for great effect.

Deadhead to prolong flowering

Sow the seed in a sunny border between March - April in warm moist finely raked soil where they are to flower 5mm deep and 45cm apart.

When the seedlings emerge thin them to 10 - 15cm.

Alternatively sow between August - September to flower the following year.
