Carrot Touchon Seed - Irish Plants Direct

A classic French heirloom variety, Carrot Touchon is prized for its exceptionally sweet flavour, tender texture, and smooth, cylindrical roots.
With a coreless, fine-grained flesh, this early-maturing carrot is ideal for fresh eating, juicing, and cooking.

Quick-growing and highly productive, this variety performs well in light, well-drained soil, making it suitable for raised beds, containers, and open ground.

It thrives in a sunny position and benefits from successional sowing for a continuous harvest throughout the season.

Sowing Instructions:

Sow seeds directly outdoors from early spring to mid-summer. Prepare well-raked, fine soil, and sow seeds 1 cm deep in drills spaced 20-25 cm apart. Keep the soil evenly moist during germination. Once seedlings emerge, thin to 5 cm apart for optimal root development.

For continuous harvesting, sow seeds every 3-4 weeks. Avoid over-fertilisation, which can cause forked roots. Mulching helps retain moisture and prevents cracking.

With its excellent sweetness, smooth texture, and fast growth, Carrot Touchon is a top choice for home gardeners and market growers alike. Its delicate flavour and high yields make it an excellent addition to any vegetable garden.
