Angelica Herb Seeds - Irish Plants Direct

This tall biennial herb is a great architectural plant with umbels of light yellow flowers that stand on strong stems during summer.

They create a great impact planted amongst flowers in a sunny border attracting valuable wildlife into the garden.

The root, seeds and fruit can be used heartburn, loss of appetite, arthritis and intestinal gas.

The stems can be candied for use in baking.

The flowers could be used in dried flower arrangements.

Sow January - February

Germination 7 - 21 days

All moist soil types that are acidic, alkaline or neutral

Harvest June - October the following year

Do not grow with fennel or dill

Pick the leaves and stems as required

Use in salads, baked items medical uses

Cut back after flowering

Sow the seeds as soon as possible in to trays of moist compost between January and February.

Transplant the seedlings into individual pots when they are large enough to handle to grow on.

Plant out in their final growing position between August and October to flower the following year.
