This chinese aster is a lovely annual flower that stands on well-branched stems blooming during the summer.

 

The pom pom flowers have eye catching creamy white centres with deep magenta outer petals and will provide  a long lasting show of colour in garden borders and container displays.

Sow between March - May in a propagator or on a warm window sill at 18 - 21 degrees onto moist compost cover the seed with 3mm of sieved compost. Transplant the seedlings when they are large enough to handle into trays or individual pots.

 

Harden off the plants before planting out after the risk of frost has passed planting 30 - 38cm apart. 

 

Sow direct outdoors between April - May into warm moist finely raked soil thin the seedlings to 30 - 38cm apart.
