This compact and bushy stringless Bean has high yields with an excellent flavour, the glossy purple pods turn green when they are cooked. A great variety for growing in pots and containers.
Seed Qty 100
Sow into pots or trays on a sunny window sill or greenhouse from April - July covering the seed with 25mm of compost plant out after all chance of frost has passed into a sunny position with fertile moist soil.
Alternatively sow direct outside into warm soil, when the young plants emerge thin to 20cm apart leaving 60cm between rows.
Regular sowing will ensure a continuous supply of Beans throughout the summer.
Germination 7 - 14 Days
Sow April - July
Harvest June - October
Companion plants Carrots, Beetroot, Broccoli, Cauliflower, Peas and Cucumber.
The Beans can be harvested when the pods are around 12cm long and no thicker than a pencil by gently pulling them off the plant.
A good source of vitamin A and Fibre
Use for steaming and light boiling suitable for home freezing for winter use.
