September

There is a noticeable slow down in the garden during September, the days can still be sunny but the evenings are getting cooler. There are always plenty of jobs to do at the start of Autumn and September is a very busy month harvesting fruit and veg and starting to clean up beds and borders. This is an ideal month for sowing a new lawn, planting new trees, shrubs and perennials as the soil is still warm and moist they will be well established for next spring. Time also to start planting spring flowering bulbs to give fabulous colour early next year.
